Clinical Specialist – NPWT – Eastern US – Philadelphia, PA

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

• In conjunction with the Implementation Specialist, Business Development Manager, or Clinical Resource Manager, the Clinical Implementation Specialist is responsible for the development of key business clinical customers in targeted opportunities and will contribute to the development of a strategic plan, including evaluation and implementation.
o Provide clinical input during pre-evaluation, implementation and conversion meetings with customers 
o Work with key clinicians to develop educational tools, educational programs and inservicing, policy and procedures, and evaluation/outcome measures based on account needs 
o Provide initial and ongoing NPWT education to MDs, WOCNs and other key clinicians within the facility 
o Be present at the majority of NPWT dressing changes across the continuum of care during evaluations and conversions until deemed no longer necessary 
o Provide education and clinical support to designated post-acute NPWT distributors and their customers, hospitals, clinics, physicians’ office, and other clinical settings where NPWT is applied 
• Coordinate and maintain consulting relationships with external clinical personnel 
• Communicate and assist where educational programs are needed internally and externally to develop clinical product knowledge 
• When needed, assist with the following:
o Development of educational training programs, including formulation, delivery and facilitation of all training programs 
o Development and implementation of training tools and strategies to maximize the selling and product support effectiveness of internal and external staff 
o Extrapolating appropriate information from studies/data; summarize and interpret information into a usable format for the purpose of group presentation and/or individual sales presentations 
o Development, support and execution of certification programs that earn education credits for clinical personnel 
o Coordination with clinicians, healthcare facilities and company’s sales, marketing and quality teams to facilitate appropriate development and use of white papers, case studies and clinical research to validate the effectiveness and safety of company products, including commercial, developmental and investigational products 
o Completion of clinical assessments as part of the regulatory investigation into product issues and complaints 
o Recruitment of key note speakers for education and training programs 
o Sharing of questions and responses to clinical issues with the entire sales force, marketing, operations and quality personnel, thus promoting consistent and uniform messaging 
• Attend clinical congresses where company is exhibiting or presenting data 
• Provide clinical guidance to understand customer complaints and propose potential methods to resolve clinical product and user issues in accordance with our quality system 
• Update sales opportunities and forecasts through company CRM software (SalesForce.com) 
• Keep timely records and manage all customer activities including call reports and follow-up through company CRM software 
• Stay current with the latest wound care research; this may involve contact and discussions with outside experts, including overnight travel 
• Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations o Employee must meet vendor credentialing/compliance demands of accounts within given territory. This includes but not limited to: RepTrax, VendorMate, Symplr, VCS, etc. For patient/customer safety purposes as part of the vendor credentialing process, Employee must satisfy account’s drug screening requirements, including but not limited to screening for marijuana use, regardless if use of marijuana is legal under applicable state law. EDUCATION and CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE 

• Associate’s degree in Nursing required (A.D.N.), Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (B.S.N.) preferred. 
• Minimum five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 
• Current RN licensure required 
• WOCN, CWON or CWS preferred 
• Strong computer and internet skills; software experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook 
• Experience with SAP and Salesforce.com will be considered an additional asset 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities 
• Experience working in an environment with global objectives 

 

LANGUAGE/REASONING SKILLS 

• Must be able to read, understand and communicate in English 
• Apply principles of logical thinking to solve practical problems 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

• Travel up to 70% of the time, including occasional international travel 
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 

 

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS 

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often exposed to road travel and clinical environments, such as hospitals, physician offices, and clinics
